Maria de la Guardia

Maria de la Guardia received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami in 1984. In 1982 she began working with Duany Plater-Zyberk on the design of Seaside, a new town in Florida. She completed a Masters of Architecture from Harvard University in 1986. She formed DLGV Architects & Urbanists with Teófilo Victoria in 1987. The first residential project the partners designed and built was Ca’Ziff, which has been widely published. Maria de la Guardia has taught at the University of Miami School of Architecture, is an AIA member and also a LEED AP.

Teófilo Victoria

Teófilo Victoria graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1979 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and in 1980 with a Bachelor of Architecture. In 1982 Mr. Victoria completed a Masters of Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University and in 1983, became the first Town Architect for the town of Seaside, Florida. Mr. Victoria teaches at the University of Miami, where he has served as the Director of the Undergraduate Program (1995-1998) and the Director of the Graduate Program (1999-2009). He has been a Visiting Professor at Cornell University and Harvard University and lectured in the United States, Europe and Latin America.
